PAST EVENTS

WORKSHOPS

A usually brief intensive educational program for a relatively small group of people that focuses especially on techniques and skills in a particular field to improve their skill of a subject through intensive study, research, practice and discussion.

“By replicating the work many times over, it substitutes a mass existence for a unique existence.”
- Walter Benjamin’s 1936 essay “The Work of Art in the age of Mechanical Reproduction”

CRAFT SHOWS

A craft fair is an event at which people sell goods they have made by hand. A craft or trade is a pastime or an occupation that requires particular skills and knowledge of skilled work. In a historical sense, particularly the Middle Ages and earlier, the term is usually applied to people occupied in small scale production of goods, or their maintenance, for example by tinkers.

ART SHOWS

An art exhibition is traditionally the space in which art objects meet an audience. The exhibit is universally understood to be for some temporary period unless, as is rarely true, it is stated to be a "permanent exhibition". In American English, they may be called "exhibit", "exposition" or "show". In UK English, they are always called "exhibitions" or "shows", and an individual item in the show is an "exhibit".
